The gift of time

Last week while in a restaurant I watched one of the waitress's who was not very busy go over to a small booth where an elderly man sat eating alone. She sat down across from him and began talking with him and the transformation in that man was incredible! That subdued, quiet man suddenly flashed the most wondrous smile and even a little laugh as she chatted with him. Later, I asked her if she knew him and she said no, but that he was a really nice man. There is nothing so precious as the gift of your time, remember to share it.

Giving

Carry a McDonalds coupon book in your car and give coupons to a homeless person instead of money.

A very pleasant experience.

It was my good fortune to enjoy this on another Cookie's Oven blog post recently.

Proper support

My hubby is probably one of the kindest people I know and he often does special little things. The other day he was on his way to the shop and passed a house that had a little kool aid stand set up in the front yard with two little boys manning it. He went back around the block and then stopped and asked how much was the kool aid...50 cents they replied. He bought one and took a drink and thanked them. After he was out of sight he threw it away as he is not a kool aid drinker but he is a supporter of young entrepreneurs.

An unexpected reminder

Recently while putting groceries in the back of my car there was a Dad and his little boy who were also putting their groceries in their car and when finished he said to his little boy, "now we have to put the cart away, not a lot of people do that, but it is the right thing to do"
GULP....find me guilty but I will try to do better.
"It's not that people don't care...but rather, that they forget to"
